A wide barrier for Syreon is the only concern in-form trainer Anne-Marie Ruttley has ahead of the lightly-raced six-year-old's return at Randwick.

The Flying Spur gelding has won his last two starts and runs in the Filante Handicap (1300m) in which he jumps from barrier nine of 11 at Wednesday's meeting on the Kensington track.

Syreon has not raced since he defeated Joku by 2-1/4 lengths over 1550 metres on the Kensington track on April 1.

Prior to that he produced an impressive frontrunning display when he registered a six-length romp at Kembla Grange over 1600 metres on March 22.

Ruttley, who celebrated her first metropolitan winning double at Randwick earlier this month with Mr Vincent and Gypsy Googol, said Chris Munce would be instructed to give Syreon a cold ride.

"The barrier is the only query with the horse, he's done very well but he won't be able to lead from out there," Ruttley said.

"He's a horse who takes a while to get going, he's quite a big horse and I'll have a talk to the jockey and we'll end up going back from there.

"He's capable of winning first-up, he's very forward, we've given him three trials at home and he's fit enough to go very well on Wednesday."

Syreon has battled niggling injuries and has had only eight starts, winning won two and being placed three times.

Ruttley welcomes back classy stablemate Byrannbo's Gift at Randwick on Saturday.

The Zabeel six-year-old runs in the Listed Show County Quality (1200m).

The entire has not raced since he easily defeated Pins On Parade to win the Bert Lillye Memorial (1300m) at Kembla Grange in March.

"He's pretty forward and has had a couple of trials at home and performed nicely in all of them," Ruttley said.

"We'll see how he goes on Saturday before we map out a campaign but if he does go well he will head towards the Tramway."

The Group Three Tramway Handicap (1300m) is at Randwick on September 5.

Stablemate Don't Tell Pat is nominated to make his return in a ratings 86 Handicap (1200m) on Saturday.

Don't Tell Pat pulled up lame after his last start at Newcastle in March when he failed to beat a runner home.

"He was a bit disappointing last prep and had a few issues but he looks good this time in," Ruttley said.

"We are on top of his issues and he is probably as good now as he was when he won three in a row as a three-year-old."
