Talented three-year-old Squamosa will have an exhibition gallop at Randwick on Wednesday but is unlikely to tackle the Group One Stradbroke Handicap next month.

Squamosa, a $15 chance in latest Stradbroke betting, hasn't raced since finishing runner-up in the Group One Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill last August.

He was being prepared for January's $1 million Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast but suffered a setback which forced him out of the race as well as the autumn carnivals in Melbourne and Sydney.

The Not A Single Doubt colt made his public return in a barrier trial at Randwick last Friday and continues his build-up to a race return with an exhibition gallop on Wednesday.

"I'm delighted with him (Squamosa) and he's having an exhibition gallop tomorrow," Waterhouse said at Randwick trackwork on Tuesday.

"I'll probably set him for the June Stakes first-up."

The $100,000 Listed June Stakes (1100m) will be run at Randwick on June 11.

If Squamosa was to be kept for the June Stakes it would rule out the $1 million Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm which is run on the same day.
