Tim Martin has no doubts Sasa is a Group One winner in the making and the filly's performance on Saturday will determine which major race the trainer targets.

Martin said Saturday's Gloaming Stakes (1800m) was his preferred option over the Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) with the Group One Spring Champion Stakes uppermost in his mind.

"She's definitely a Group One horse if she can have a bit of luck, and I think she's a stayer which is why I want to run her in the Gloaming and then the Spring Champion Stakes," Martin said.

"(By running in the Gloaming) I can either come back to the 1600 metres of the Flight Stakes or go to the Spring Champion Stakes."

The Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on October 2 is open to all three-year-olds while the Flight Stakes (1600m) on the same day is restricted to fillies.

Martin's opinion of Sasa as a genuine Group One contender was bolstered by her game fifth in the $1 million Group One Golden Rose (1400m) on August 28 after jumping from barrier 15.

Martin believes that aside from the luckless third placegetter Ilovethiscity, Sasa produced the next best run in the race.

"She had the widest barrier (15), she had to do a ton of work and she was very tough," he said.

"She didn't stop at all and was probably entitled to finish 10th, beaten 10 lengths, and she was only beaten a length."

At her only other Group One appearance, Sasa finished a close second to Skilled in the Champagne Stakes (1600m) in April after travelling three wide throughout.

A downpour of rain on Tuesday was Martin's biggest worry with Sasa as the filly's best performances have come on good rated tracks.

However, Rosehill track manager Lindsay Murphy said the 9mm of rain that had fallen at the track by the afternoon would likely do "more good than harm" with fine weather forecast for the remainder of the week.

In the Group Two Tea Rose Stakes (1500m), Sasa's stablemate Fibrillation is set to take her place after missing the Furious Stakes with an elevated temperature.

Fibrillation scored a 6-3/4 length maiden win over 1400m on heavy track at Randwick on August 10.

"She had a setback going into the Furious, she had a slight temperature," Martin said.

"She appears fine, she'll have a blood test tomorrow and if I'm not happy with her she'll head out but at this stage everything seems to be fine and she'll go to the Tea Rose and Flight Stakes."

Silver Shadow Stakes winner Parables and Furious Stakes winner More Strawberries head nominations for the third leg of the Princess Series and Martin is keen to get a guide on Fibrillation against the top class fillies.

"She won impressively on debut but she beat nothing," the trainer said.

"If she can run in the first four (on Saturday) you know she's got plenty of upside."
