Tommifrancs is the fresh horse on the scene and trainer Gerald Ryan believes he can surprise his well-travelled rivals including stablemate and favourite Ready To Lift in the Group Three Summer Cup at Randwick.

Ready To Lift, is the well-backed TAB Sportsbet favourite at $3.10 while Tommifrancs is rated a $9 chance in Friday's feature.

"I've got two horses who are going into this race in top order, so I'll be hoping one of them can win it," Ryan said.

"It's hard to split them but if you look at Tommifrancs, he's the fresh one in the race and that could give him the edge over the mare (Ready To Lift) and horses like Rainbow Styling who has been to Melbourne this campaign."

Tommifrancs comes into the race after a comfortable win over stablemate Crums in a 2000-metre race at Rosehill on December 6 when ridden by Glyn Schofield.

And the seven-year-old also has the services of top Melbourne jockey Damien Oliver.

"I gave Glyn the option of Tommifrancs or Ready To Lift and he chose the mare and so I told Damien's manager that he could ride Tommi," Ryan said.

"It's nice to have a rider like Damien to fall back on.

"He gets on a horse that is certainly on the way up and the way he powered home the other day suggests he'll be there again on Friday."

Ready To Lift was set to run in the Perth Cup next week but will mix the race after a series of flight mix-ups.

The five-year-old is in slashing form, coming off a commanding victory in the Christmas Cup at Rosehill on December 13.

"She's flying and is a tough mare who goes better the longer she goes," Ryan said.

"And she will be very hard to stop and gets into the race with only 54kg."

Rainbow Styling, who is trained by the partnership of Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes is the second elect at $3.50 ahead of the Bart Cummings-trained Zazabeau.

The Jack Denham-trained Nuclear Sky, who carries the topweight of 59kg, is at $9.

Nuclear Sky, who won the Hawkesbury Cup two starts back, will be ridden by Chris Munce, who will be chasing the Australian Jockey Club's feature summer double after winning on Something Anything in the Villiers Stakes last Saturday.
