Champion Singapore mare Jolie's Shinju will get her first look at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning ahead of her Australian debut in the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes.

The five-year-old, a dual Group One winner in Singapore, will be after her fifth successive win in the 1600m weight-for-age feature.

Her regular rider Ronnie Stewart was due to arrive from Singapore on Monday night to partner Jolie's Shinju in Tuesday's workout and Saturday's Group Two race.

Jolie's Shinju is currently at $12 with TAB Sportsbet for her main mission which is the $3 million Cox Plate (2040m) at the Valley on October 24.

The Hideyuki Takaoka-trained mare has settled in well at the Sandown Quarantine Centre having put on 6 kilograms since she arrived just over weeks ago.

She will complete her preparation for the Dato Tan Chin Nam with a strong gallop at Sandown on Wednesday.

Jolie's Shinju's latest appearance was a five-length victory in the Singapore Derby (2000m) on July 12.

The daughter of Jolie's Halo has won nine and been placed in six of 19 starts in Singapore but hadn't raced beyond 1200m until three starts back.

She won the Group One Patron's Bowl (1400m) at Kranji on May 31 before taking out the Group Two Derby Trial (1600m) at on June 21 and the Group One Singapore Derby (2000m) on July 12.

Her last two wins were comprehensive five-length victories.

There were 17 nominations for the Dato Tan Chin Nam including 2007 winner El Segundo who went on to win the Cox Plate that year; 2007 Melbourne Cup winner Efficient, Caulfield Guineas winner Whobegotyou and dual Sandown Classic winner Zipping.

Throw in Group One winners Mentality, Tears I Cry, Valedictum and Vision And Power and the in-form Mic Mac and there is plenty of depth in the race which the Moonee Valley Racing Club is striving to have elevated to Group One level.

Dual Group One winners Gallica and Zarita are the headline nominations for the Group Two Stocks Stakes (1600m) for mares on Saturday.

The Pat Hyland-trained Zarita hasn't won since she took out the Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville in May last year, but her latest effort when a fast-finishing third behind Mic Mac and Whobegotyou in the Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield last Saturday week delighted connections.

"That's the first time I've ridden her that she's wanted to jump, travel and find the line," said jockey Dwayne Dunn.

"She usually just wants to whack away and staggers into third or fourth, but she really had a go in the Memsie.

"Back in mares company in the Stocks gives her the chance to win another race."

Also among the Stocks Stakes entries are Easter Cup winner Miss Maren and Let's Elope Stakes victor Cats Whisker.
