Glowlamp is building a reputation as arguably the best maiden in Australia and her task to change that in Saturday's Tea Rose Stakes is a tough one.

But trainer Clarry Conners says she is a proven a fighter who never shirks a challenge and she will give it her best against Samantha Miss.

The Tea Rose (1500m) is the third leg of the four-race Princess Series for fillies with Samantha Miss two from two in the Silver Shadow Stakes and Furious Stakes.

The last time they clashed, Glowlamp battled hard from her wide alley (10) to run fifth to Samantha Miss in the Group Two Furious Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on September 9.

One start earlier Glowlamp looked to have the Silver Shadow (1200m) in her keeping but Samantha Miss burst through the pack to edge her out by a neck.

From eight starts Glowlamp has filled a minor placing five times, four of those at Group level including a third to Samantha Miss in the Group One Champagne Stakes (1600m) in May.

"She always puts in and always gives it everything, she's very tough and talented filly," Conners said.

"She's drawn well in barrier five and will be able to go back and relax from there and I'm expecting her to be very competitive.

"We're up against the same group of horses, so there's no hiding from the likes of Samantha Miss and she'll certainly be in there trying."

TAB Sportsbet had Samantha Miss at $1.65 favourite for the Tea Rose Stakes with Stripper at $4.60. Glowlamp was an $18 chance.

Stripper is from the in-form stable of David Payne and made a brilliant return in August when she stormed home to get within a short head of Duporth in the $1 million Golden Rose (1400m).

Last season Stripper won the Group Three Sweet Embrace beating Glowlamp and Samantha Miss. That win qualified her for the Golden Slipper but she was withdrawn on race eve with a foot abscess.

The Peter Snowden-trained Portillo, who ran third in the Slipper, was severely checked by Sara's Choice who fell in the Silver Shadow Stakes.

The incident ruined Portillo's chances in the race and she finished near the back of the field.

She also had trouble getting a clear run in the Furious before finishing strongly for third.

However, trainer Kris Lees is on the side of punters and can find no reason why Samantha Miss should not go on to yet another victory.

"She's tough and I'm very happy with how she's done since the Furious," he said.

"She is very versatile and she has done something the others haven't which is to win a Group One race in her first preparation."

The Princess Series culminates in the Group One Flight Stakes (1600m) on October 4.

Angst in 1993 is the only filly to make a clean sweep with New Zealander Sunline missing the first leg before dominating the final three in 1998 while Victory Vein was beaten a short neck in the Flight Stakes by Royal Purler in 2002 after claiming the first three.
