For all that glamour mare Hot Danish has achieved on the racetrack there is one glaring omission from her record.

The six-year-old has won more than half of her 20 starts and over $1 million in prizemoney but she is yet to taste Group One success.

She will be out to rectify that on Saturday when she faces a rematch with last-start conqueror Typhoon Tracy in the Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington.

Trainer Les Bridge makes no excuses for Hot Danish's last-start defeat in the Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield but he has been buoyed by a solid jumpout at Flemington on Tuesday.

"She worked well yesterday. She went up the straight six in a barrier trial - jumpouts are what they call them here - and she went really good," Bridge said.

"I think she will be right at her top for Saturday."

Hot Danish has twice been a Group One bridesmaid, finishing runner-up to Eskimo Queen in the 2008 Coolmore Classic and to Neroli in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes during the autumn.

Both were run on heavy tracks, which she doesn't enjoy, while her remaining three attempts at the top level were also on rain-affected surfaces.

Bridge has one eye on the weather in the lead-up to Saturday and has his fingers crossed that Hot Danish will finally get a good track in a Group One race.

Even if she does, he is under no illusions about the task she faces against Typhoon Tracy.

"She's got it all to do," Bridge said.

"The other mare beat her two-and-a-half lengths but I think she is a good chance to turn the tables on her.

"I thought she (Hot Danish) was below her best last start but I'm hoping she will go better at Flemington.

"I don't know about her not handling (Caulfield) but I'm sure she will go better on the bigger track."

Bridge won the Myer with Miss Zoe seven years ago when it was known as the Nestle Classic.

He rates Hot Danish as the best mare he has trained and while he is a man of few words he gives the feeling a Group One win by Hot Danish on Saturday would be pretty special.

"It would be good. It would be very good," he said.

"Miss Zoe won it a few years ago and it would be good to do it again.

"I'm just about due."

So is Hot Danish.
