Popular Sydney mare Hot Danish is likely to be restricted to sprint races in her bid to score an elusive Group One victory this autumn.

Trainer Les Bridge said he had yet to decide on a carnival program for the multiple Group winner, who has returned to work at Randwick.

However, he revealed he was considering keeping the six-year-old to sprints this time in following her failure to again run out a strong 1600 metres in the spring.

While Hot Danish scored two wins over a mile as a three-year-old she has been unplaced in three starts at the trip as an older mare.

Hot Danish won the Research Stakes (1200m) first-up last preparation before heading to Melbourne for a three-run campaign.

Her best result in Melbourne was a second to gun mare Typhoon Tracy in the Group Two Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield, before she finished more than seven lengths behind the same mare when fifth in the Group One Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington.

"I don't know what I'll do with her yet, I might just sprint her this preparation," Bridge said.

"There are some nice sprints over the carnival (in Sydney). I might even take her up to Brisbane."

The Group One BTC Cup (1200m) and Group One Doomben 10,000 (1350m) shape as possible targets for Hot Danish in Brisbane.

Bridge said Hot Danish had been back in his Randwick stables for about a month and looked well ahead of the autumn.

"She's just starting to work along now and she'll be ready to trial in about three weeks," he said.

Hot Danish has won 11 of her 21 starts, eight at stakes level.

The Nothin' Leica Dane mare has had five runs in Group One company with her best results being seconds to Eskimo Queen in the 2008 Coolmore Classic and to Neroli in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes last year.

Four of her five starts in Group Ones races have been on rain-affected tracks which are not her favoured conditions.

Bridge will be out to dodge wet tracks with Hot Danish during the autumn and winter.
