Peter Moody says it's decision time for Set For Fame who could take on Denman in the Australian Guineas if she impressively wins Saturday's Group Two Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield.

The daughter of the unbeaten Reset, who won the 2004 Australian Guineas and Futurity Stakes, is highly rated by Moody as she was the only horse who could go with unbeaten stablemate Black Caviar in trackwork as two-year-olds.

Set For Fame made an impressive return to racing after suffering a bleeding attack last spring when she won the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on January 26, beating Aloha by 2-1/2 lengths.

"She raced a bit fresh when she won first-up in a race devoid of speed," Moody said.

"She got left in front and she probably overdid it a bit but still finished off nicely.

"I think a bit more speed in this race tomorrow will suit her nicely."

Set For Fame hadn't raced since running second to subsequent Thousand Guineas winner Irish Lights in the Group Three Tranquil Star Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield in September.

"She's gone on with the job and it's decision time for her," Moody said.

"If she can win this race comfortably we might look to have a crack at Denman in the Australian Guineas.

"But if she just gets the job done or is thereabouts she can stick to three-year-old fillies grade.

"She certainly hasn't gone backwards, she's trained on nicely."

The other option to the Group One Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on March 6 is the Group Two Kewney Stakes (1400m) on the same program.

Set For Fame is $2.90 favourite with TAB Sportsbet ahead of Irish Lights at $6, Rostova ($6.50), No Evidence Needed ($7) and Misty Blue at $8.50 with Starry Eyed next best at $10.

Meanwhile, Denman completely dominates betting as $1.20 favourite for Saturday's Group Two D'Urban Stakes (1400m) and trainer Peter Snowden fully expects him to continue on his winning way.

"He looks really well. I was at Flemington on Tuesday morning and he has really come on since his last run and he's getting close to peak fitness now," he said.

The handsome Lonhro colt, the winner of eight of his 10 starts including the Group One Golden Rose, is the $1.60 favourite for the Australian Guineas ahead of Set For Fame at $10, Manhattan Rain ($11) and Spacecraft at $12 with Hanks next best at $14.

The Danny O'Brien-trained Spacecraft ($11) and Moody's Hanks ($13) are considered Denman's main rivals on Saturday.
