Trainer David Payne believes a gear change will help Baci Amore recapture his best form in the Listed Hawkesbury Guineas on Saturday.

Baci Amore is on the Queensland Guineas trail and is backing up in the 1400-metre $100,000 feature a week after finishing sixth to Geared Up over 1300 metres at Rosehill.

A further five nominations on Tuesday topped up the entries for the Guineas to 15.

"He was overracing in the first part of the race (last week) and was a spent force in the closing stages," Payne said.

"We've taken the blinkers off and he'll be finishing this race strongly.

"He'll be ridden quietly and, being a 1400-metre race, there's only really one turn so the tight track is of no concern."

Despite racing keenly, Baci Amore was just over two lengths from Geared Up.

Baci Amore raced in Queensland last year when he ran second to Rockdale in the Group One TJ Smith (1600m) at Eagle Farm, the same distance and venue as the Queensland Guineas on June 6.

The Rock Of Gibraltar youngster has not won since May last year at Rosehill, a start before he went to Queensland.

He only beat two runners home two starts back in the Group Two Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on March 21 when he struck interference during the run.

Prior to that Baci Amore had a torrid run in the Group One Randwick Guineas (1600m) in which he suffered interference at the 1200, 1000 and 600 metres.

The Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury has attracted four extra entries giving the race 14 nominations.

Group One winner Teranaba has the topweight of 58 kilograms for the $100,000 feature.

The former Anthony Cummings-trained entire is having his second start for Patinack Farm trainer Jason Coyle after beating just two home in the Group Two Sir Byrne Hart Stakes at Eagle Farm on Anzac Day.

The five-year-old has won only two of his 17 starts and has not been victorious since claiming the Group One Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Randwick in October 2006.
