Rick Hore-Lacy has confirmed talented four-year-old Chase The Rainbow is back in work at his Caulfield stable

Rick Hore-Lacy has confirmed talented four-year-old Chase The Rainbow is back in work at his Caulfield stable and being set for the BMW Caulfield Cup (2400m) in October, reports Racing Victoria.

After resuming from nearly a year off the scene to score a dominant win at Caulfield in August last year, the son of Dash For Cash was then ruled out of the remainder of the Spring and the following Melbourne Festival of Racing through niggling injuries.

A winner of the Group 2 Stutt Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley as a three-year-old, Hore-Lacy said the ghostly grey entire should be ready to return to the races early in the new season.

“He’s sound and injury free and I’m very happy with him at the moment,” Hore-Lacy said.

“I’m going to enter him for the Caulfield Cup.

“I don’t know whether he’ll run a mile-and-a-half (2400m) one way or the other, but he certainly ran the mile (1600m) out strongly at Moonee Valley as a three-year-old and he doesn’t pull; which are both good signs for a stayer.”

In related news, Rick Hore-Lacy has withdrawn an entry for exciting two-year-old Clevadude out of Saturday’s Super VOBIS two-year-old handicap (1200m) at Moonee Valley.

Set to have a jumpout at Caulfield next Tuesday, Hore-Lacy said the son of Bel Esprit would likely resume in a 1000m two-year-old handicap at Moonee Valley on June 29.

“I’ve decided to give him another two weeks,” he said.

“He had a good gallop this morning and I’m very happy with how he’s progressing.”
