Australian Horse of the Year, Typhoon Tracy might have run her last race, but her colours were carried to victory at Randwick on Wednesday by a very promising Encosta de Lago filly in Ice Creme, reports Tara Madgwick in www.breednet.com.au.

Her report says: Prepared by Gai Waterhouse for Hutchins Thoroughbreds, Ice Creme was resuming from a spell and scored a stylish half length win in the 1000 metre maiden at just her third race start. The three year-old is blessed with plenty of ability as seen last preparation when she finished an unlucky second to subsequent Group I winner Secret Admirer at Canterbury.

A half-sister by champion sire Encosta de Lago to Group I winning mare Ike's Dream, Ice Creme is one of six winners from the good producer Mrs Kahn, who is a member of the elite Hutchins bloodstock portfolio, which also includes Typhoon Tracy and several members of her family.

Mrs Kahn was purchased privately by Hutchins Thoroughbreds with Ice Creme as a foal at foot and has not had a foal the last couple of years, but was covered last spring by Typhoon Tracy's full brother Red Element, who stands at Glenlogan Park Stud in Queensland.
