GAI WATERHOUSE says there are only three real hopes in the Magic Millions Classic later this month after the impressive wins by her filly Driefontein and rival Amorino on Saturday, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

It says: Driefontein put a gap in the McLachlan Stakes field when Sizzling was the only challenger to make ground on the dominant winner at Doomben.

However, the Queensland colt was back in to favourite at $3.40 yesterday for the $2 million feature at the Gold Coast on January 14, just in front of Driefontein at $3.80, while Gerald Ryan's smart winner from Rosehill on Saturday, Amorino, is on the third line of betting at $5.

''How could she have done any more?'' Waterhouse asked after Driefontein ran a race record. ''She was only 95 per cent fit and will only get better. The second horse ran a good race as well but nothing behind them could win the Magic Millions. Did you see how far they beat the rest by? Gerald Ryan's colt [Amorino] was extremely impressive, and you have to put him in there with a chance, but I think Saturday's racing will be the best guide to the Magic Millions.''

Waterhouse will have two runners in the Magic Millions. Her debut Warwick Farm winner No Looking Back will to go into the Gold Coast race first-up after winning a barrier trial on Friday. No Looking Back is on the fourth line of betting at $11, alongside John O'Shea's Wyong Magic Millions winner Hoss Amor and Alezan Thunder from the Mark Kavanagh yard, which won at Sandown on Christmas Eve.
