The task for Victoria's two leading chances in Saturday's $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic became harder at this morning's barrier draw, where Clevadude was allocated barrier 18 of 22 and Calcatta came up with barrier 20.

David Hayes' outsider Gracious Prospect faired the best of the five Victorian-trained runners in barrier nine, one inside from the Mark Riley-trained Ballarat Clockwise Classic winner I'm Too Sexy.

The other Victorian hope, Ticket To Toorak, drew 12 for Warrnambool trainer Matthew Williams.

A$3 chance with the TAB prior to the draw, the Rick Hore-Lacy-trained Clevadude has now drifted to $4 behind only the Clarry Conners-trained Assail, who firmed from $2.80 into $2.60 after drawing the inside gate.

Unbeaten in two starts, Clevadude followed an effortless three-and-a-half length debut victory at Cranbourne with an even more mposing four-and-a-half length win at Moonee Valley.

The Robert Smerdon-trained Calcatta is rated a $41 chance for Saturday's feature after she finished a well-beaten runner-up behind Peter Snowden's Montsegur at Caulfield on Boxing Day. (www.racingvictoria.net.au)
