GOLD Coast trainer Gillian Heinrich had a career moment in the Magic Millions Classic last year, when the late Stathi Katsidis steered Military Rose to victory, and she is hoping for another on Saturday, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
It says: Heinrich has Internal Revenue and filly Military Grace in her favourite race this year, which is run only a couple of hundred metres from her front door.
''In all the years I have been training [at the Gold Coast] I have learned it's hard enough to get a [MM] runner,'' she said. ''So to have a runner and the winner last year - I'll never top that in my training career. To do it again would be sensational.''
There is an element missing from this year's tilt at back-to-back wins: Katsidis.
''It is very sad that [Stathi] is not here,'' Heinrich said. ''We will be thinking of him come Saturday.
''If Stathi was here he would have certainly be on one of the horses.
''I think back to just 12 months ago, it was so good. I don't think Stathi had ever been happier. He said in the papers and said to us that it was a group 1 to him.
''It was similar feelings for me, the Magic Millions is the race to win.''
