Trainer Liam Birchley will be guided by the weather interstate before determining if Court Command heads to Sydney or Melbourne for the spring after making his comeback at Eagle Farm.

Court Command, a Damian Browne mount, is set to return from his winter break in Wednesday's Family Nightclub Quality (1300m).

Birchley is looking at a weight-for-age campaign with Court Command in Melbourne but has also pencilled in a Sydney trip.

"Where he goes will all depend on the weather but I'm leaning to going to Sydney first," Birchley said.

"As he showed during the winter he's better on top of the ground and the weather will ultimately decide his destination.

"If he goes to Melbourne he'll start off in the Memsie Stakes, otherwise he'll go to Sydney and run in the Warwick Stakes.

"I'd rather go to Sydney first because it's a better program for him there and then he can go on to Melbourne."

The Group Two Warwick Stakes (1400m) will be run at Randwick on Saturday week while the weight-for-age Group Two Memsie Stakes (1400m) is at Caulfield a week later.

Birchley feels Court Command will be best suited to races up to 1600 metres but interestingly he's been nominated for the Group One Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley in October.

"I'm confident he'll run a strong mile (1600 metres) and he'd need to run a couple of times over the trip before I get an idea whether he can run 2000 metres," he said.

Court Command has started once over 1600 metres when third to Wonderful World in the Group One Caulfield Guineas in 2006.

The son of Commands won three Group races as a three-year-old in Sydney including the Group Two Stan Fox Stakes (1400m) at Randwick which earned him favouritism for the Caulfield Guineas.

Birchley is not overly worried with Court Command being burdened by 60.5 kilograms and running 1300 metres in his first start for nine weeks.

"He ran first-up over 1300 metres in the Prime Minister's Cup last campaign and was very unlucky not to win and he's a lot fitter now," he said.

"The weight is some concern and he'll need to be hitting the line well to go away."

Court Command justified a decision to bring him out of retirement for a winter campaign by claiming the Group Three BTC Sprint (1350m) at Doomben in May.

It was his second run since serving a book of more than 100 mares, with 90 per cent fertility, at Wattle Brae Stud on Queensland's Darling Downs last spring.

Court Command performed creditably at the elite level during the winter but was not suited by heavy tracks when unplaced in both the Doomben 10,000 (1350m) and Stradbroke Handicap (1400m).
