Trainer Liam Birchley is set to unleash Vo Rogue-like tactics on Court Command in Saturday's George Main Stakes which will be crucial to his Cox Plate aspirations.

Birchley is concerned Court Command hasn't used his major strength in his two Sydney starts when he led and weakened to finish just behind the placegetters in the Group Two Warwick Stakes (1400m) and Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) at Randwick.

Court Command finished just over three lengths from Warwick Stakes winner Trusting and was a little more than two lengths behind O'Lonhro in the Chelmsford Stakes.

"He'll always get beaten if he only leads by a small margin," Birchley said.

"He hasn't used his major weapon yet and that's his high cruising speed.

"I was pleased with his run last start in the Chelmsford but he only led by half a length and I would have preferred to see him three or four in front.

"He's pulled up well and has improved further but this time I want to see him set up a bigger lead to break their hearts."

Birchley is confident Court Command will run 2000 metres but won't decide until after the George Main (1600m) whether the entire heads to Melbourne for next month's Group One Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley or stays in Sydney for the Group One Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Randwick.

"The George Main will decide where he goes after Saturday," Birchley said.

"I'm still confident he can run 2000 metres and if he runs well enough on Saturday he'll go to Melbourne for the Cox Plate.

"If he shows he'll be better suited over a mile (1600m) he'll stay in Sydney for the Epsom."

Court Command was ridden in his two Sydney starts by Damian Browne but Birchley has yet to engage a rider for the son of Commands in the George Main Stakes.

"I'm just waiting to see who is available," Birchley said.

Meanwhile Birchley plans to start stablemate Paprika in a barrier trial at Doomben next week ahead of her comeback in the Group Two Schillaci Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield.

Paprika hasn't raced since undergoing knee surgery after suffering the only defeat of her five start career when runner-up to Phelan Ready in the Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast in January.

Her main mission in the spring will be the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on Victoria Derby day.

"She's coming along well and is a lot stronger," Birchley said.

"She'll trial at Doomben on Tuesday week and then go straight to Melbourne where she'll resume in the Schillaci."
