Tim Clark has scored the ride on Moatize who continues to please master trainer Bart Cummings ahead of Saturday's Group Two Apollo Stakes at Rosehill.

Clark marked his return to the big time with success on Hot Danish in the Group Two Breeders Classic at Randwick last Saturday.

The jockey, who won the Group One The Galaxy on Typhoon Zed last year, damaged a shoulder in a fall at Warwick Farm in August which kept him sidelined for four months.

Cummings is launching a two-pronged attack on Saturday's 1400-metre feature with Melbourne Cup winner Viewed also resuming.

Viewed will be ridden by Craig Agnew who takes over from Cup-winning jockey Blake Shinn who is booked to ride star mare Tuesday Joy for his boss Gai Waterhouse.

Cummings' racing manager Bill Charles said Moatize, who has not raced since finishing sixth in the Melbourne Cup, was a good chance first-up.

"There's a fair way to go for both of them but I suppose Moatize had the edge on Viewed in their trials and he'll be thereabouts on Saturday," Charles said.

In his barrier trials, Moatize ran fourth to Hot Danish over 800 metres on January 30 before running fifth to Gunnadoit over 1200 metres on February 9.

Viewed, as expected, found the trips too short for his liking and ran last in both hitouts.

"He's (Viewed) just been given a couple of very quiet runs and Bart is very happy with the way both of them have done, they're on track," Charles said.

At this stage Viewed is being aimed at three Group One assignments, the Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm on March 7, the Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill two weeks later and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 25.

Moatize is likely to run in the Ranvet and The BMW (2400m) at Rosehill on April 4 before heading to the Sydney Cup (3200m) on the same day as the Queen Elizabeth.

"The noms haven't closed yet for the Sydney Cup but there is no talk about Viewed running in it, but Moatize will be nominated for the race," Charles said.

Stablemate King's First will run in the Listed Parramatta Cup (2000m) at Rosehill with Clark on board.

The five-year-old is coming off a half-head second to Vision And Power over 1800 metres at Rosehill on February 7.

Meanwhile, Charles confirmed that Group winner Mimi Lebrock would miss the autumn following a recent setback.

The mare, who won the Group Two Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield in October, was nominated for the Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Randwick on April 18.
