Melbourne Cup winner Viewed will remain in Sydney for a trio of autumn Group One races with trainer Bart Cummings happy with the entire's soft barrier trial at Randwick on Friday.

Viewed galloped over 800 metres in the opening heat with his Cup-winning hoop Blake Shinn on board, along with stablemate Moatize who finished sixth in the Melbourne Cup.

As expected both stayers were given quiet trials with Viewed finishing last of eight and Moatize getting home strongly to run fourth to Group winner Hot Danish.

"It was just a bit of exercise for the pair of them, nothing more," Cummings said.

"Although Moatize showed a little bit of dash out there."

Cummings said Viewed and Moatize would both be aimed at three Group One races in Sydney.

The pair will tackle the Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on March 21 before the $2.25 million BMW (2400m) at the same track on April 4.

Cummings said they would then run in the Sydney Cup (3200m) at Randwick on April 25.

"That's the plan at this stage and unless the owners have a problem with it, that's what will happen," Cummings said.

"They've both done well since the Cup and are coming along nicely."

Cummings said with the classy duo in Sydney, stablemate Sirmione would fly the flag for his stayers in Melbourne during the autumn.

"Sirmione will hold the fort in Victoria and have another go at the Australian Cup," Cummings said.

The five-year-old scored a slashing 3-3/4 length win over Princess Coup in last year's Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington.

Sirmione has not raced since running third to Theseo in the Mackinnon Stakes in November.

Classy three-year-old Fist Of Fury was a standout at the Randwick trials, defeating Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Northern Meteor by a head in a 800-metre hitout with Golden Rose victor Duporth 1-1/2 lengths away third.

The Cummings-trained Mimi Lebrock was entered in the second heat at Randwick but the master trainer said the mare wasn't quite ready for the hitout.

"It's a bit too early for her, we're looking at keeping her in Sydney and having a go at the Coolmore so she'll step out soon," Cummings said.

The Group One Coolmore Classic (1500m) is at Rosehill on March 21.
