Apprentice Blake Spriggs hopes its a case of deja vu when he partners six horses for trainer Brett Cavanough at Goulburn on Monday.

The last time 17-year-old Spriggs received a call to arms from Albury-based Cavanough at Goulburn on April 20, the pair ended with a winning double.

"Mr Cavanough rang me to ride his horses at Goulburn a few meetings back and I rode a double," Spriggs, the son of successful Newcastle rider Dale Spriggs, said.

"He was pleased with the way I rode and I'm more than happy to go back and try and win some more races for him.

"Hopefully we can have some luck again.

"Mr Cavanough is a top trainer, his horses are always trained up."

Spriggs is booked for fourth emergency Team Leader (Hypercet Printing Maiden), White Girl (Post House Motor Lodge Maiden), Footy Legend (Southern Country Weddings Class 1), Bombouche (Anns Weddings & Functions Rating 62 Hcp), Seven Bells (Weddings On Course Rating 67 Hcp) and Planet Arena (DVine DZine Bridal Wear Class 1).

Managed by former jockey Wayne Harris, Spriggs has ridden 43 career winners since kicking off his career in March last year.

"Mr Cavanough was keen on Seven Bells," Spriggs said.

"She's drawn wide (barrier 20) but has got good early speed and hopefully we can get across.

"He's been very happy with the new horse Footy Legend since he came into the stables."

Seven Bells, a four-year-old mare by Clang, is coming off a third up win over 1300m in a Rating 71 Hcp at Cowra on June 6 when ridden by Robin Freeman.

The mare has four wins and five placings from 13 starts.

Footy Legend, now owned by Cavanough, was previously trained by Rodney Douglas in Melbourne.

The three-year-old gelding by Choisir has not raced since finishing ninth to Kelcard over 1300m at Warrnambool on May 7.

Cavanough has been the state's leading country trainer for the past two seasons.
