A wound-up Parables is ready to go in Saturday's Group Two Light Fingers Stakes along with stablemate Obsequious.

Both fillies won first-up in the spring with Obsequious taking out the Group Three San Domenico Stakes (1000m) and Parables running over the top of her rivals in the Group Three Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) two weeks later.

Trainer Peter Snowden said both fillies were heading into their autumn return in great order.

"I think Parables is probably a bit better than last preparation, she's definitely more forward than she was first-up last time and she's a bit stronger," Snowden said.

"She'll run well."

Parables came from second last in a field of 12 in the Silver Shadow Stakes first-up last August when she reeled off impressive final sectionals to chase down Solar Charged and Chance Bye.

"They ran it to suit her that day, they went breakneck speed which set it up for her," Snowden said.

"I would think this race will be fairly competitive again this time, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her run well again fresh."

The reigning Sydney premiership winner said Parables would progress to the Surround Stakes (1400m) second-up before a decision was made which way to head later in the autumn.

"She is wound-up pretty well for this race and the Surround, and then after that we'll see what happens," he said.

"Maybe the Coolmore Classic, maybe the Phar Lap Stakes, we'll just see what happens."

Kerrin McEvoy and Josh Parr are the riders for the two fillies, but a decision on which horse number one stable rider McEvoy partners won't be finalised until Wednesday.

Obsequious finished fourth in a 900m trial at Rosehill last Tuesday.

She has won two of her three first-up attempts including the San Domenico and also a Warwick Farm midweeker as a two-year-old where she defeated one of her Light Fingers rivals, More Strawberries.

"Her trial was excellent," Snowden said.

"She's come back a bigger and stronger filly, I'm very happy with her."

Lining up against the two Darley fillies will be Group One Flight Stakes winner Secret Admirer, More Strawberries who is a dual Group winner and dual Group One placegetter, and impressive first-up winner Red Tracer.

In the three-year-old colts and geldings feature on Saturday, the Group Two Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m), Group One Champagne Stakes winner Skilled will be Darley's representative.

"He has come back pretty good," Snowden said.

"I think 1200 metres would be a bit sharp for him first-up but I would think he'll be competitive.

"His work has been good and he looks well.

"He's fairly forward, he has done a fair bit of work, but really his next two starts in the Hobartville Stakes and then the Randwick Guineas, that's the race we've aimed him at."
