The Chris Waller and Glyn Schofield combination emerged as a force in Sydney in 2010 and the jockey believes he's well placed for more success at Randwick on Saturday.

Sydney's premiership-leading trainer Waller has 14 runners at the meeting with Schofield engaged for six of them including Listed Tattersalls Club Cup (2000m) fancy Snow Alert.

"You know there's not a meeting that really goes by here in Sydney that Chris doesn't have a winner," Schofield said.

"I'm pretty fortunate that I can get on a couple of those horses and he's putting me on week in and week out which is great.

"Obviously Chris is pretty good at what he does, and he puts them in races where they can win which is probably the most important thing."

Snow Alert turned in a big performance in the Group Two Villiers Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on December 18, coming from back in the field for third when shouldering topweight of 58kg.

That was on the back of a six-week let-up after running in the Group One Emirates Stakes at Flemington in early November.

"His comeback run from Melbourne was pretty pleasing with the big weight," Schofield said.

"I think he's pretty well in with the majority of the field tomorrow, he's got a fair gate (five), he's in good form and I'm sure it will take a good one to beat him."

Group One winner Rock Kingdom slightly shades Snow Alert for favouritism.

They have taken different paths into the race with Snow Alert stepping up from 1600m while Rock Kingdom drops back from his seventh in the Summer Cup (2400m).

While pleased with Snow Alert's Villiers showing behind Dances On Waves and Mentality, Schofield expects further improvement in Saturday's feature.

"He was good (in the Villiers) but without doubt he's going to tighten up from that run," the jockey said.

In the Australia Day At Warwick Farm Handicap (1200m), Schofield will be looking to make amends on Sikka after the gelding's luckless last start at Rosehill.

Schofield rode Sikka on December 11 over 1200m and was blocked for a run behind a wall of horses in the straight and finished sixth as favourite.

"He had lots of luck last start, but all bad," Schofield said.

Both The Verminator (race three) and Mutawarath (race seven) are last-start winners while in the Autumn Carnival On Sale Now Handicap (1000m) Schofield rides unraced colt Subarc.

Waller has five juveniles in the race but only four will take their place with Ingham Magic expected to run at the Gold Coast instead.

"I've ridden him (Subarc) in work, he's quite a big strong guy but the wide gate (12) isn't ideal," Schofield said.
