Nash Rawiller admits to being pretty excited about Golden Slipper favourite More Joyous ahead of Saturday's Silver Slipper Stakes at Rosehill, but he knows better than anyone that you can't get too far ahead of yourself where two-year-olds are concerned.

Rawiller rode the Gai Waterhouse-trained More Joyous in a track gallop on Tuesday morning and the hitout bolstered his confidence ahead of the Group Two Silver Slipper (1100m).

"We'd be very disappointed if she doesn't win this race after her build-up to it," Rawiller said.

More Joyous stormed into Golden Slipper favouritism with her slashing 5-1/4 length debut victory at Rosehill on January 17.

The performance brought back memories of Rawiller's mount Amelia's Dream in last year's Silver Slipper.

She romped in by 6-1/4 lengths and was made favourite for the Golden Slipper.

But the race proved her undoing as the Waterhouse-trained filly broke down badly shortly after and hasn't raced since.

Amelia's Dream's injury resulted in Rawiller riding stablemate She's Meaner in the $3.5 million Golden Slipper, the world's richest race for juveniles.

The Golden Slipper was claimed by another Waterhouse stablemate Sebring, ridden by Glen Boss, while She's Meaner ran 12th.

Amelia's Dream was building up to an autumn comeback but suffered a further setback and the best case scenario at this stage is that she will return in the spring.

"Last year showed me that you can't take anything for granted especially with the youngsters, so we'll get Saturday out of the way and go from there, it was a tragedy what happened to Amelia's but you have to move on as hard as it is," Rawiller said.

"I'm really looking forward to Saturday, More Joyous is a very exciting horse and has worked brilliantly this week and everything looks right for a big run."

More Joyous firmed from $15 in to $5 for the Golden Slipper with bookmaker Colin Tidy's Betchoice after her debut victory and TAB Sportsbet also has her as $5 favourite.
