Nash Rawiller has no doubts More Joyous should run in Saturday's Bill Ritchie Handicap in preference to the George Main Stakes.

That way he can ride both More Joyous and his favourite horse Theseo who is on target for his sixth Group One victory in the George Main Stakes (1600m) at Randwick.

However Rawiller may not get his wish with More Joyous receiving 59.5kg when Bill Ritchie weights were released on Monday.

It's an impost that could sway trainer Gai Waterhouse into starting More Joyous in the George Main, according to Tulloch Lodge race programmer Mark Webbey.

"I haven't spoken to Gai yet but I imagine she'll assess the situation overnight," he said.

Corey Brown will keep the More Joyous mount if she does line up at weight-for-age in the George Main.

The Melbourne Cup-winning jockey knocked back the ride on Black Piranha to maintain his association with Sydney racing's glamour race mare.

More Joyous and Theseo are scheduled to work at Randwick on Tuesday morning.

"Gai gave More Joyous a trot and canter this morning so she'll be out to do a bit more tomorrow," Webbey said.

Rawiller will resume in the saddle after being suspended for his Golden Rose ride on runner-up Squamosa and he is eager to make an immediate impact.

"I'm really looking forward to riding him," Rawiller said of Theseo.

"He is going really well. Over the mile she (More Joyous) can probably beat him but what would it take out of her.

"If she does run I won't be worrying about her. I'll just do what I always do on him."

What Rawiller always does is steer the warhorse to the front and dare the others to take him on.

It usually works against Theseo's rivals and nothing will change on Saturday.

Nominations for the George Main have been extended until Tuesday morning after nine entries were received for the Group One mile.

Five of the other seven - Black Piranha, Coniston Bluebird, Danleigh, Empires Choice and Snapy Halo - are Group One winners while Gathering and Trusting are Group One placed.

Markets have both More Joyous and Theseo among the main challengers to So You Think in the Cox Plate while Herculian Prince, another of Rawiller's rides at Randwick, is high in Melbourne Cup betting.

Herculian Prince will run in the Group Three Colin Stephen Quality (2400m) in which Lloyd Williams has nominated five of his stayers but most are unlikely to make the trip from Melbourne.

Rawiller is also looking forward to riding Halekulani in a race for the first time when he contests the Group Two Stan Fox Stakes (1400m).

The Waterhouse-trained Halekulani has had just two starts for a win at Canterbury with Blake Spriggs aboard and a second to Stan Fox rival Decision Time in the Heritage Stakes when ridden by Hugh Bowman.

"He is a very nice horse on the way up and I'm looking forward to riding him," Rawiller said.
