Rangirangdoo continues on his path towards next month's Epsom Handicap in the Group Three Tramway Handicap at Randwick where punters are expecting him to score consecutive wins.

The Chris Waller-trained five-year-old comes into the 1400-metre feature after showing an explosive turn of foot to defeat Cullen Castle by 1-3/4 lengths over 1500 metres at Rosehill on August 15.

TAB Sportsbet has Rangirangdoo as $3.80 favourite ahead of Strat's Flyer and Albert The Fat who are locked together at $5.

Waller has plenty of respect for Rangirangdoo's opposition on Saturday and says the run will help top him right up for his grand final.

"He takes on a very strong field and believe or not he will improve with the run," Waller said.

"He'll race fresh and perform well but it won't be until Epsom day that he hits his straps."

The last-start win altered Waller's plans for Rangirangdoo who was originally on a Caulfield Cup (2400m) mission.

Rangirangdoo posted a win over the Epsom distance of 1600 metres when he defeated stablemate Mr Ubiquitous at Randwick in January.

Queenslander Albert The Fat is coming off a third to Swift Alliance in the Listed Show County Quality (1200m) at Randwick on August 22.

The Eden Petrie-trained gelding has won nine of his 16 starts including a victory over the Tramway distance at Eagle Farm in April last year.

Strat's Flyer from the Allan Denham yard has been in slashing form and is going for three successive wins.

He won the Listed Winter Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill in July before winning the Winter Championship over the same distance at the same venue on August 1.

Denham gave the gelding a 34-day freshen-up before stepping him out in a 1030-metre barrier trial at Rosehill on September 1 when he was third.

The six-year-old started favourite in both of his previous races but caught punters on the back foot with his barnstorming win in the Listed Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) at Gosford in June when he started at $21.

Strat's Flyer is also nominated for the Group One Epsom Handicap at Randwick on October 3.
