Punters have gone for Hot Danish and Mic Mac to fight out Saturday's All-Aged Stakes but the pair have to deal with their last-start conqueror Melito and 2009 winner Danleigh.

The Les Bridge-trained Hot Danish has been a consistent Group One performer the past few seasons without winning a big one and now, at the age of six, time is running out.

She strode to the front in the TJ Smith Stakes two weeks ago but three-year-old Melito came with a powerful finishing burst to deny her once again with Mic Mac third.

Trainer Gerald Ryan says the filly has gone from strength to strength since and he is confident of a bold showing again at Randwick, with the 1400 metres ideal.

"She hasn't missed a beat," Ryan said.

"She looks magnificent, she's big and strong and with no rain around, she gets the track to suit."

A firm track will also suit Hot Danish whose best form is on top of the ground.

Mic Mac's Victorian trainer Greg Eurell says the four-year-old is enjoying his Sydney stay.

"He hasn't missed a beat up here since the TJ, he's eating up and really thriving in the environment at the moment," he said.

"All up, no matter what he's done, you would say the 1400 metres at this stage is the distance that is his best.

"Bearing that in mind it should be a nice race for him on Saturday. The Group Ones are always tough but he's in with a fighting chance."

Eurell said the lightly-raced gelding had matured over the past 12 months.

"He's a bit more race-savvy in what he's doing and all in all I think he's a better product this time around," he said.

Mic Mac finished fifth in the Manikato Stakes in the spring won by hardened campaigner Danleigh who ran fifth to his Chris Waller-trained stablemate Rangirangdoo in last weekend's Doncaster Mile.

"It was always the plan to step him up to the 1600 metres in the Doncaster with the view we could always bring him back to the 1400," Waller said.

"I was very proud of how he ran in the Doncaster and he is fit and ready for the All-Aged."

Nash Rawiller rides Danleigh replacing Hugh Bowman who sticks with Mic Mac.
