O'Lonhro is primed for a first-up raid on Saturday's $500,000 Magic Millions Cup at the Gold Coast with champion jockey Darren Beadman aboard.

Beadman has been enticed from Hong Kong by Nick Moraitis, owner of Love Conquers All, the favourite for the $1 million Magic Millions Trophy for three-year-olds.

Like Love Conquers All, O'Lonhro is trained by the Hawkes team of Michael and Wayne and their father John.

The Group Two Chelmsford Stakes winner was put through his paces in a gallop with veteran jockey Rod Quinn aboard at Rosehill on Saturday with Michael Hawkes happy with the workout.

"He handled it well and did everything quite well," Hawkes said.

"It was all we could ask for, he wasn't out to break any times, we'll just leave that for the track."

When asked if Beadman would be aboard the four-year-old in the 1400 metre race on Saturday, Hawkes smiled before he replied.

"It's very likely," he said.

Beadman dominated the Sydney racing scene for many years riding for Crown Lodge and John Hawkes.

The jockey also had a famous partnership with O'Lonhro's sire, the Hawkes-trained multiple Group One winning champion Lonhro.

O'Lonhro has not raced or trialled since his eighth to Rock Kingdom in the Epsom Handicap (1600m) run on a heavy track at Randwick in October last year.

Two runs earlier he claimed his biggest win when he scored comfortably over Miss Marielle in the Chelmsford Stakes (1600m),

Hawkes said Love Conquers All had pleased the camp since his impressive win at Randwick on Boxing Day.

"He's well and pulled up really good from that run," Hawkes said.

"In the next six months he's going to be an even better horse but at the moment he just keeps doing everything right.

"He can't do anymore than win and we're very happy with the way he keeps improving, he's spot on for this."

The Mossman colt has three wins from five starts and is already something of a seasoned traveller having had a trip to Melbourne in October when he was ninth to Headway in the Group One Coolmore Stud (1200m).

Prior to that he defeated Happy Hippy to win the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.
