Nathan Berry has retained the mount on two-year-old Saramenha who will carry 59 kilograms after his allowance when she runs at Rosehill on Saturday.

Trainer Gerald Ryan and her syndicate of owners have resisted the temptation to use a three-kilo claiming apprentice and will stick with Berry who takes 1-1/2 off her 60.5kg.

Saramenha has earned the big weight with her past two devastating performances where she has won her races by a combined 11-1/4 lengths.

She carried 56kg to victory at her latest outing on Saturday and Ryan decided after the race the seven-day back-up was the best plan for the filly.

He is keen for her to bank enough prizemoney now to ensure a start in the Golden Slipper in April.

"Her weight on Saturday is what I expected," Ryan said.

"Nathan will ride her, he knows the horse really well now and there's no reason to change."

The plan is to give Saramenha a good spell during the summer and bring her back for just one lead-up run into the Slipper.

Ryan put Saramenha's stablemate Faking into Saturday's 1100m race as a late entry and said she would take her place.

"She's a nice filly, she trialled all right the other week and she will run," he said.

The David Payne-trained Dream Choice will also be on the seven-day back-up after finishing 4-3/4 lengths second to Saramenha on debut.

He won't have to run into her again this week with the colts and geldings in a separate division from the fillies.

However, it won't be an easy assignment with boom colt Foxwedge among the entries.

Trained by John O'Shea, Foxwedge created a big impression with an eight-length win in a barrier trial last week.

"I haven't seen the trial but I'm told the horse is pretty good," Payne said.

"But Dream Choice will go around.

"I'd like to get him qualified for some of the better races later on.

"He's only a little horse and I don't think he's a champion, but I think he can win a good race."

Payne also has Cocky Raider and Sindibad in the race. Cocky Raider won a barrier trial last week in which Dream Choice was third while Sindibad has been placed in both his trials.

Foxwedge was a $925,000 yearling at Easter last year and the highest-priced Fastnet Rock offspring at the sale.
