Juvenile filly Indian Ocean continued to impress with a strong win in oppressive conditions at Rosehill to make it two victories from her only two starts.

Sent out the $1.35 favourite in the five-horse field, Indian Ocean was taken straight to the front by Jim Cassidy in Saturday's Rosehill Gardens Events Handicap (1200m).

Cassidy gave her a breather mid-race and just when it looked as if Indian Ocean might be challenged, she switched on to go to the line strongly three-quarters of a length ahead of Shadow Miss.

Trainer Tim Martin said he had been in two minds whether to give the filly another run this time around following her debut win over 1100 metres two weeks ago.

"I didn't really expect to run her twice this preparation but she did really well after her first start," Martin said.

"She will have a few weeks off now and get ready for the autumn."

Cassidy said Indian Ocean had been a little stirred up before the race.

"It's a hot day and she was on the toe a bit," he said.

"But she settled down and did all the donkey work so it was a big effort.

"She is a very nice filly in the making."

Indian Ocean is raced by a syndicate comprised mainly of personnel from Coolmore Stud as well as Sydney publican Donnacha Reidy.

Michael Kirwan, general manager of Coolmore Australia, said the group was very excited about the filly's future.

"She is still big and raw but she is a lovely filly," he said.

"She will have a month off now and get ready for the autumn.

"Everything about her suggests she will get up to 1600 metres as she goes on."
