Bookmaker Tom Waterhouse faces a $1 million payout if outsider Wanted wins Saturday's $3.5 million Golden Slipper at Rosehill.

Waterhouse took a series of bets at $51 from a commission agent at Friday's Call of the Card.

The John O'Shea-trained Wanted is owned by controversial racing identity and big punter Eddie Hayson and was backed from $51 to $41.

Real Saga remained favourite at $3.90 ahead of More Joyous at $4.40.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained More Joyous is one of three runners the triple Golden Slipper winner has in the race along with Manhattan Rain ($9) and Horizons.

Blue Diamond Stakes winner Reward For Effort, the only horse to beat Real Saga, was at $9 while Melbourne filly Rostova remained steady at $10 with Indian Ocean backed from $26 to $21.

Although Horizons is the least favoured of the Waterhouse trio she has come in for support over the past couple of weeks after opening at $61 when first markets were posted and was backed from $41 to $31 at the Call of the Card.

Syndicator Denise Martin experienced her biggest thrill in racing so far when Sebring won last year's Slipper, also on a heavy track, and believes the Choisir filly's breeding will help her in the wet.

"The form is all around her," Martin said.

"She is a big, strong, robust filly and if you take out the Magic Millions her form is as good as any.

"And remember she won the Widden on a slow track."

Horizons has two wins and two placings from her five starts and ran sixth in the Magic Millions won by Slipper rival Phelan Ready.

If Horizons can win in the distinctive purple and white stars of Martin's Star Thoroughbreds it could well be the second time those colours are seen in the winner's stall on Saturday with Theseo ready to challenge Viewed in the $2.25 million BMW.

"Four of the owners in Horizons are also in Theseo," Martin said.

"Obviously Viewed on a wet track will be hard to beat.

"Theseo ran well in the Queensland Derby on a wet track and he is a different horse now."

Martin admits to being close to a nervous wreck last year and is approaching this year's Slipper a little calmer.

"The excitement of a Group One day never leaves you," she said.

"But I am a bit calmer than I was last year.

"There was a bit of pressure because Sebring was favourite.

"Horizons isn't favourite but I think she can run very well and I am excited."
