A pleasing trackwork gallop has convinced Guy Walter to give Appearance her chance in Group One company in the Vinery Stud Stakes but the trainer's Doncaster hopes have been dashed by injury to Straight Albert.

Appearance, who is owned by Sheikh Mohammed, will go into Saturday's Vinery (2000m) as a late entry with just seven original nominations taken on Monday.

The race also features her Flight Stakes-winning stablemate Streama and Melbourne star filly Mosheen.

"She worked on the course proper at Warwick Farm this morning so we are going to put her in the Vinery," Walter told AAP on Tuesday.

"As long as she continues to do well during the week she will run and Kerrin McEvoy will ride her."

The lightly-raced filly underlined her talent with victory in the Group Three Keith Nolan Classic (1600m) at Kembla Grange last Sunday week at her sixth start.

The news is not so good for Straight Albert, the winner of four straight races over the summer including the Gosford Cup.

"He has suffered a career-threatening tendon injury," Walter said.

"It is sad for the owners and I probably won't have a runner in the Doncaster.

"Straight Albert will be given a long break to allow the injury to heal and we'll see what happens."

Walter created history in the 2005 Doncaster (1600m) when Patezza led in a stable trifecta beating Court's In Session and Danni Martine.

The trainer was also pleased with Streama's Tuesday morning workout ahead of her clash with Mosheen.

The filly worked with the Matthew Smith-trained Group One winner Hurtle Myrtle with race jockey Hugh Bowman aboard.

Walter is also aiming high with two-year-old Toydini who runs in the Group Three T L Baillieu (1400m) on Saturday's Rosehill program.

Second on debut at Hawkesbury on March 22, Toydini is a daughter of multiple stakes winning mare Johan's Toy, also trained by Walter.

Johan's Toy ran second in Randwick's two big miles, finishing behind Desert War in the 2005 Epsom Handicap and Racing To Win in the Doncaster the following year.

"She is nominated for the Sires' Produce so we will see what she does on Saturday," Walter said.

The Group One Sires' Produce Stakes on April 14 will have an additional element with the news unbeaten colt All Too Hard will target the race.

Trainer John Hawkes and owner Nathan Tinkler made the decision on Tuesday to bypass Saturday's Golden Slipper in favour of the Sires'.
