Injury prevented Danleigh from being a major player in the 2008 autumn carnival but the talented gelding has signalled he is still a Group One force with his second to Nicconi in The Galaxy.

He gets the chance to go one better in Saturday's All-Aged Stakes with trainer Chris Waller opting for the 1400-metre Randwick feature over the Group Two Sir Byrne Hart Stakes (1200m) in Brisbane.

"If I could choose the ideal race for him it would be a Group One race over 1300 metres," Waller said.

"It was either the All-Aged or the race in Brisbane but in the end we decided to stay in our own backyard for now.

"I didn't know the All-Aged was going to be quite as strong as it is but I think he will still be in the mix.

"One thing very much in his favour is that he gets through wet ground."

The Randwick track was rated slow on Friday and showers were forecast overnight and on race day.

Danleigh was on the fourth line of betting at $8.50 on Friday with All Silent favourite at $4.80.

A year ago Danleigh was one of the leading contenders for the Doncaster Handicap but his career was put on hold when he damaged a splint bone.

His second placing to Nicconi in The Galaxy was his first start since he beat Friday Creek in the 2008 Liverpool City Cup.

Formerly trained by Guy Walter and then John O'Shea, Friday Creek has found a new home with Anne-Maree Robinson on the NSW south coast and is the emergency for the All-Aged.

When Danleigh was ruled out of the 2008 Doncaster, Waller was left with Triple Honour who went on to give the trainer his first Group One victory.

Triple Honour will also run on Saturday but instead of racing against his stablemate he will be tested over the 2000 metres of the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

He finished 1-3/4 lengths eighth in last Saturday's Doncaster won by Vision And Power and Waller was pleased with the effort.

"There's no better chance to try him over the 2000 than this race," Waller said.

"It was this race or the All-Aged and we thought we would give him a go at the longer race."

Danleigh's campaign is scheduled to incorporate a tilt at the major Queensland races and he is a $17 chance in early markets from TAB Sportsbet for the BTC Cup (1200m) on May 9, $18 for the Doomben 10,000 and $15 for the $1 million Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) on June 6.
