International superstar sprinter Lankan Rupee will continue his build up towards the Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) on February 21 with a barrier trial at Cranbourne on Monday, reports racing.com.

Impressive in a jumpout at Caulfield on Tuesday, the trial will be one of the reigning Australian Racehorse of the Year’s final pieces of work before he resumes at Flemington. 

The son of Redoute’s Choice lines up against a star-studded line up in the first heat over 800m which includes Group 1 winner Bel Sprinter, last start Group 2 Australia Stakes (1200m) victor Mourinho and Stakes winners A Time For JuliaLord Of The Sky,Akavoroun and General Truce.

Another Group 1 winner to feature on the morning is Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) champion Earthquake.

The John O’Shea-trained three-year-old will be having her second trial this campaign in preparation for a possible first up tilt at the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) on February 28.

Unbeaten Jason Warren-trained four-year-old Baron Archer makes his first public appearance since winning at Caulfield in July in the second trial of the morning, while the ninth trial features talented three-year-olds Nordic Empire and Armada.

Later in the morning, the Robert Smerdon-trained Under The Louvre continues his build up towards the Oakleigh Plate against Northwood Plume Stakes (1200m) victor Grianteand star jumpers Chaparro and Lord Of The Song in trial 14 over 990m

David Jones Cup (2000m) runner-up Noble Protector trials against the Ken Keys-trained pair of Bring Something and Like A Carousel in trial 18 over 1190m while the final of 22 trials of the morning, which will be run over 1550m, features Sandown Cup (3200m) winner Renew
