Corey Brown will kick himself if Sacred Choice breaks an Epsom hoodoo on Saturday but the top jockey is comfortable with his decision to partner Foreteller.

Brown has ridden Doncaster winner Sacred Choice in all three starts this preparation but will be on the Chris Waller-trained Foreteller in the Group One 1600m feature at Randwick.

"I'll kick myself if she (Sacred Choice) wins because I've got off her but I thought she was disappointing the otherday on a track that was too hard for her," Brown said.

"I think it's a quality Epsom, there's some good horses in it like Sincero and Secret Admirer and I just thought he (Foreteller) would be very cheeky in the race.

"Only that the rain is here everyone is thinking Sacred Choice because of the wet weather. I'll be still on the third or fourth line of betting if it's wet or dry but she wouldn't be.

"It's the risk you take when you are riding and trying to get the best ride. It doesn't always work."

Brown has ridden the imported Foreteller at his past two starts for a win over 1800m and a closing fifth over 1300m in the Group Two Sebring Sprint at Rosehill on September 10.

"I definitely think he's up to it," Brown said.

"He'll definitely love the 52.5 kilos and an ideal barrier (eight).

"He's not going to go into the race favourite or as a standout but his run the other day at Rosehill was cheeky. He got through to the line late, he really dove to the line and it was a good sign.

"For mine he's a cheeky each-way chance and it wouldn't surprise me if he got over the top of them late with no weight on his back."

Foreteller is one of three runners for Waller along with Red Tracer and Triple Elegance as the trainer chases a first Epsom to go with his two Doncaster Mile victories.

Sacred Choice, meanwhile, will be out to break a 35-year drought for mares in the Epsom and will be aided by the current slow track rating.

There were seven mares among the final 18-horse field but that has been reduced to six following the scratching of King's Rose on Thursday.

King's Rose showed signs of tying up at trackwork on Thursday in Melbourne and was later withdrawn from the Epsom by her trainer Peter Moody.

Dual Group One winner Sincero remains the $4.40 TAB Sportsbet favourite ahead of Pinker Pinker ($6) and Secret Admirer ($7).

Sacred Choice and Foreteller are both at $9, with Sacred Choice firming from $15 on Wednesday as Randwick has been hit with 56.5mm of rain since Saturday.
