Robert Heathcote has always regarded Fillydelphia as a filly of substance looking towards next season and is confident she can make it a hat-trick of wins at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Fillydelphia will step up to 1500m for the first time in the Hamilton Hotel QTIS 600 2YO Handicap, a distance Heathcote said he had no fears about with the filly.

"She's a nice filly who I pretty much earmarked as a filly with a good future very early on," Heathcote, who will claim a second straight Brisbane trainers' premiership next week, said.

"In her first couple of races she didn't set the world on fire but mentally she didn't put it together. This preparation, though, I've been very happy with what she's done."

Fillydelphia broke her maiden with victory over 1200m at Doomben on June 23 before stepping up to 1350m at her most recent start to win again in a 2YO Open Handicap at the same track on July 7.

"I have also always earmarked her as a filly who will be better over more ground and what I've been pleased about in her past two wins is that they've both been different types of runs," the trainer said.

"Her first win she was a bit tardy away and got back before steaming to the line with 57 kilos on her back.

"Last start she was good out of the gates, sat outside the leader and also scored a good win with 57 kilos again.

"She drops a bit in weight on Saturday (to 56kg) although the class is a bit higher, but I'm sure she'll run well.

"The 1500 metres doesn't hold any fears for us and I believe whatever beats her will go close to winning the race."

Heathcote plans to give Fillydelphia a nice break soon as he believes the filly can develop again and return an even better prospect next preparation.

He said there was another suitable option over 1500m in two weeks but then the filly was likely to go to the paddock.

"I really think as a three-year-old filly she'll be quite a good horse over ground," he said.

"What I like is that she's got a really nice change-up gear. She's got a good turn of foot so mentally if she can improve again as much as she has this time in then I think we'll have a filly of some quality."

Fillydelphia will be ridden by Larry Cassidy who has been aboard for her past two wins.

Cassidy trails Stathi Katsidis by five wins in the Brisbane jockeys' premiership.
