Duporth continues to please trainer Anthony Cummings who says the colt is primed for the second leg of Brisbane's winter sprint series at Doomben on Saturday.
All going well, Duporth will try to add both the Doomben 10,000 and Stradbroke Handicap to his BTC Cup win.
The three-year-old edged out Bank Robber by a half head in a deceptive finish to the Group One BTC Cup (1200m) on May 9 with star sprinter Apache Cat another nose away third.
"He's done very well since," Cummings said.
"Provided he works well early this week there is every likelihood that he will run in the 10,000 on Saturday and on to the Stradbroke."
Duporth's win repaid the faith Cummings had in the colt who had been out of luck in many major races during his career.
The colt started at $13 in the BTC Cup and the win came as a surprise to many punters but not Cummings, although he did admit he was relieved.
"We went there to win," Cummings said.
"But it was great to see him finally crack it at Group One level and certainly doing it at three is a big plus and to do it against that sort of quality field and at weight-for-age certainly ticks all the boxes.
"It was nice to see him performing up to what we always thought he's been up to all the way through."
By Red Ransom out of grand racemare and broodmare Staging, Duporth was already assured of a successful stud career but his stocks were boosted immeasurably with the Group One success.
Duporth won the $1 million Golden Rose (1400m) in August last year but had his share of bad luck in big races until the BTC Cup.
The Group One Doomben 10,000 (1350m) is on Saturday with the Group One Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle farm two weeks later.
Apache Cat remains the $3 favourite with TAB Sportsbet for the Doomben 10,000 ahead of Danleigh and Bank Robber at $7.50.
Melbourne filly Ortensia put herself into calculations with victory in the Glenlogan Park Stakes and on Sunday was at $10 alongside All Silent with Duporth a $12 chance.
Duporth is at $11 for the Stradbroke betting with Bank Robber the $7 favourite displacing All Silent who has eased to $9.
