Group One winner Duporth will get the chance to boost his future stud prospects with trainer Anthony Cummings unveiling plans to campaign him overseas next season.

Cummings has his sights on the rich Hong Kong International meeting in December as well as the major sprints at England's Royal Ascot, which has been a happy hunting ground for Australians in recent years.

Duporth returned to trackwork in Sydney last week and Cummings said his charge would most likely make his return in the Group Three Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) at Flemington in September.

"He'll do his pre-work here but he'll do most of his racing in Melbourne this prep," Cummings said.

"He'll target most of the top level sprint races there, the selection of sprint races in the spring in Sydney is fairly slim.

"Eventually we're hoping to take him to places like Hong Kong later this year and then hopefully (Royal) Ascot this time next year."

If everything goes to plan for Duporth, he could run in the penultimate leg of the eight-race Global Sprint Challenge, the Group One Patinack Classic at Flemington in November, before tackling the final leg, the Group One Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin a month later.

Cummings took Casino Prince to Hong Kong for the Champions Mile in 2007 but the horse failed to reproduce his best Australian form and finished last to Able One.

The well bred Duporth is by Red Ransom out of Staging making him a half-brother to 2006 AJC Sires' Produce Stakes winner Excites and Group-winning two-year-old Tickets.

Cummings has always held a high opinion of Duporth and the colt repaid his faith when he won the Group One BTC Cup at Doomben in May beating Bank Robber and Apache Cat in a deceptive finish.

Despite his confidence, Cummings was pleasantly surprised when the three-year-old's number went up in the frame as he thought Duporth had run second or third.

That win broke a losing streak dating back to August last year when Duporth posted a thrilling victory in the $1 million Golden Rose at Rosehill.

He had six starts in between the two victories, four at Group One level including his fourth to Whobegotyou in the Caulfield Guineas last spring and eighth to subsequent King's Stand Stakes winner Scenic Blast in the Newmarket Handicap at Flemington in March.

"He didn't have any luck in plenty of those big races after the Golden Rose but I was always confident that he would bounce back if he had some luck," Cummings said.
