Anthony Cummings has already won a brace of Group One races this season and his spring carnival could be about to get even better.

The Randwick trainer will be strongly represented in Caulfield's two showcase races this week, starting with the Thousand Guineas (1600m) on Wednesday when he saddles up Flight Stakes runner-up Sister Madly.

He will have at least two runners in the Caulfield Cup (2400m) four days later with both Zavite and Red Lord guaranteed a start in the $2.5 million race.

Miss Darcey will also be paid up for but is borderline to gain a run.

Cummings won majors last month with Road To Rock (George Main Stakes) and Turffontein (Sir Rupert Clarke) and is quietly confident he can bolster that tally on Saturday.

Red Lord has fallen out of favour with punters after flopping in the Turnbull Stakes last start when he was ridden close to the speed.

But prior to that he was an impressive winner of the Naturalism Stakes, settling worse than midfield and pinching runs along the inside to down Light Vision with subsequent Metropolitan Handicap winner Speed Gifted fourth.

"He was just too prominent in the early stages of the Turnbull and I think the Naturalism is more like the right guide for him," Cummings said.

"In that race he beat the Caulfield Cup favourite so I'd say he's going to run pretty well on Saturday.

"All he needs is to draw a decent gate so he can get the right run."

Glyn Schofield has picked up the Cup mount on Red Lord who was a $35 chance with TAB Sportsbet on Monday.

Mark Zahra will partner Zavite ($81) who will back up from his gallant fourth to Alcopop in the Herbert Power Stakes on the weekend.

Zavite won the Launceston and Adelaide Cups earlier this year and Cummings believes he is poised to give Saturday's feature a mighty shake.

"You've got to remember, he had three weeks between runs going into that race on Saturday and he was stepping up from 1900 metres to 2400 metres," Cummings said.

"He got taken on all the way so his run was excellent.

"He will take some improvement from that and he'll be pretty competitive on Saturday."

Miss Darcey, second to Light Vision in the Listed Bart Cummings last start, is also nominated for the David Jones Cup (2000m) on Saturday but Cummings is leaning towards running her in the Moonee Valley Cup if she misses out on a Caulfield Cup berth.
