A Brisbane campaign awaits improved filly Court after she spoiled the farewell party for Belong To Many in the Sapphire Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

The 2008 winner of the Group Two Sapphire (1200m), Belong To Many will go through the ring at the broodmare sale on Tuesday and started the $2.60 favourite in her defence.

She was unable to get her own way in front and Court ($7) came from out of the pack to claim her by a length with Cajou ($31) another half-neck away third.

"She will go to Brisbane, there are a lot of nice races up there for her," trainer Clarry Conners said of Court who he opted to run in the Sapphire instead of the Group One Galaxy.

"She's a lovely filly and I have had a lot of success up there in the three-year-old races."

Rival trainer Barbara Joseph was emotional as she welcomed Belong To Many back to the enclosure.

"She has run a great race as always," Joseph said.

"She couldn't lead like she wanted, there was another horse annoying her.

"I just hope whoever buys her decides to keep her racing.

"She has so much more to give."

Court went to Queensland last winter to claim the Group Two Classic (1200m) and has now won three races from her 10 starts.

Belong To Many has won seven races and been placed on 12 occasions from 27 starts for prizemoney of almost $450,000.

She cost $20,000 as a yearling and got her name from the 800 people who paid up for shares when she was syndicated.
