English raider Conduit has won his second successive Breeders Cup Turf title for trainer Sir Michael Stoute.
Conduit stormed home to give Barbados-born Stoute his fifth Breeders Cup victory ahead of Presious Passion and Da Re Mi.
Jockey Ryan Moore was content to sit back as Presious Passion bolted to a big early lead in Saturday's 1-1/2-mile (2400m) race.
By the time they turned for home Presious Passion and jockey Elvis Trujillo had been reeled in, but they had enough to hold on for second place for trainer Mary Hartmann.
Dar Re Mi, trained by John Gosden and ridden by Frankie Dettori, took third ahead of Conduit's stablemate Spanish Moon.
Conduit had won only once previously this year, in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in July.
But he once again showed solid autumn form as he boosted his career earnings to more than $US5.3 million ($A5.82 million) dollars.
Moore said his late run wasn't exactly what he had in mind.
"I was stuck behind a lot of horses early, but that didn't worry me," Moore said.
"I got a nice spot down the back side and I went inside to move up.
"Last year went about as planned but this year wasn't according to plan. But I knew I was going to get there."
Stoute, son of a former police chief of Barbados, was pleased to defend the title.
"It's always a big day for the world championship," he said.
"It's a very important race, and it was great to see him go and do it two in a row. We're also pleased with the fourth horse, Spanish Moon."
