Melbourne trainer Mark Kavanagh is eyeing off the Group One Coolmore Classic with Champagne Harmony after the rising star easily beat a quality field in the $200,000 Group Two Yallambee Classic at Morphettville.

At just her fourth start, Champagne Harmony sat on the speed and lengthened brilliantly in the straight to win going away.

Immediately after the race Kavanagh described the daughter of Choisir as a bright talent who would now be tested at racing's elite level.

"I'm seriously considering the Coolmore (Classic) with her in Sydney," Kavanagh said. "I think she's got a big future."

Kavanagh said he always had Monday's Yallambee Classic (1200m) in mind for Champagne Harmony when she returned to his stables having won her only start at Ballarat.

The filly resumed at Moonee Valley last month and she beat all but the undefeated Mic Mac.

She rounded out her preparation for the Adelaide feature by scoring a dominant on-speed victory at Caulfield on February 28.

"I love winning races in Adelaide over the carnival," Kavanagh said.

The former South Australian retains a stable at Morphettville which is overseen by his son Sam and they cheered home Queen's Kiss to a victory earlier in the day.

"This race (the Yallambee Classic) is a good horses race. You don't fluke a win in it," Kavanagh said

"If there was a race in Adelaide that could be upgraded - this is the race."

Champagne Harmony ($3.80-$2.50 fav) was able to cruise home a length and a quarter ahead of the front runner Cerberus Gal ($12-$16).

Very Discreet ($17-$21) was another half length back in third place.

Steven King, who rode Champagne Harmony to victory, gave Kavanagh a glowing report when he unsaddled the Group Two winner.

"She's a lovely filly who's looking for a lot further," King said. "She just relaxed so beautifully."

The Group One $600,000 Coolmore Classic (1500m) is at Rosehill on March 21.

Champagne Harmony, by former star sprinter Choisir, is the only winner to date from the city performed Zabeel mare Hansuyen.

Hansuyen, a winner over 1500 metres, is a full sister to Group One winners St Reims and Champagne.
