Victorian trainer Greg Eurell is a little anxious about the rain in Sydney which could mean unbeaten three-year-old Mic Mac racing on a wet track for the first time in Saturday's Group One Randwick Guineas.

There has been 20mm of rain overnight and the forecast is for more rain during the week.

"He hasn't been on a wet track so I don't know how he'll handle it, but we'll have a better idea in the morning when he works on soft ground," Eurell said.

Eurell has Mic Mac stabled on a property at Windsor near Hawkesbury where stablemate Apache Cat stays on his trips to Sydney.

"There are question marks on a few of them, but we are all in the same boat," Eurell said.

"I don't think the mile (1600m) will worry him but whatever he does on Saturday he'll be in the paddock on Sunday and will have a nice break and we'll look forward to the spring.

"Keeping in mind that this is his first preparation, he still has a bit to go."

Mic Mac won his first three starts over 1200 metres at Sale and 1100 and 1200 metres at Caulfield in November-December.

He came back from a seven-week break to romp in by five lengths over Champagne Harmony over 1200m at Moonee Valley on February 12.

Champagne Harmony franked that form with her win in Monday's Group Two Yallambee Classic at Morphettville.

Mic Mac made it five from five when he stepped up to 1400 metres for his first start on a right-handed track and scored by a half-length from Caymans in the Group Two Hobartville Stakes at Rosehill on February 28.

"He'd only been there (Sydney) a couple of days and did it with such authority against a very good field,," Eurell said.

"Caymans is no slouch, Youthful Jack is a very good horse, and there were big wraps on Rock Kingdom."

There were 23 nominations for the Randwick Guineas including the Peter Snowden-trained trio, Caymans, Desuetude and Spring Champion Stakes winner Sousa; Victoria Derby winner Rebel Raider; Youthful Jack, Rock Kingdom and Predatory Pricer.

The Allan Denham-trained Youthful Jack has won 11 of his 16 starts and is unbeaten in three outings on slow tracks including the Group Two Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m) two starts back at Randwick.

Also among the entries are Australian Guineas winner Heart Of Dreams and third placegetter Lucky Thunder.
