The amazing Craig Williams continues to 'wow' Japanese racing. He booted home 4 winners last Sunday. But his Japan stint means he'll miss a key ride on 2011 Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden at Royal Ascot next week. Williams famously missed the Flemington ride on Dunaden through suspension and that meant he missed being the first jockey to win all three spring features on three different horses following his Caulfield Cup win on Southern Speed and Cox Plate victory aboard Pinker Pinker. He was back on Dunaden for his Hong Kong Vase triumph last December but now Dunaden is after the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot on Saturday week and Williams will be unavailable for the ride due to his Japanese commitments. Anyway, a win or two in Japan will probably be worth a lot more to the Aussie than even a Royal Ascot win, given the UK's sub-standard prizemoney offerings.
