TWO days after he completes his commitments on the final meeting
TWO days after he completes his commitments on the final meeting of the Sydney autumn carnival Craig Williams makes what is now an annual pilgrimage to Japan.
Williams, who has seven rides at Randwick on Saturday, has been given a two month contract with Katsumi Yoshida’s Northern Farm with Yasutoshi Ikee his host trainer.
“I’m looking forward to it. I spoke to Mr Yoshida’s son and he’s all excited and so am I,” Williams said.
Williams first meeting will be at Kyoto on May 4 followed the next day by the $2.3 million NHK Mile at Tokyo, a race he won in 2011 with Grand Prix Boss.
He will finish his contract at the Group 1 Takarazuka Kinen meeting at Hanshin on June 23.
Williams said he hasn’t heard any more if he’s a chance to ride the Arrowfield Stud part-owned Animal Kingdom when he races in England in the first week in June. (www.racingnetwork.com.au)
