Brenton Avdulla's licence has been granted for the next six months by Racing NSW

Brenton Avdulla's licence has been granted for the next six months by Racing NSW but his conduct will be monitored before being allowed to ride for the remainder of the season, reports Racing Network news.

Avdulla was interviewed by Racing NSW's licensing committee on Monday in relation to his association with a member of the Comanchero bikie gang.

The matter came to the attention of the NSW Police, who issued Avdulla a warning about having an association with persons of poor repute.

Racing NSW stewards and the Police are happy that the contact with the Comanchero ended in late 2012.

The following recommendations were made at the conclusion of the Racing NSW licensing hearing.

-    Avdulla's licence be renewed for an initial period of six months (to expire on 31/12/2013);
-    an assessment of the jockey's conduct during this period will be considered prior to any decision being made to renew the licence for the remaining period of the 2013/14 licensing season;
-    the licensed jockey be reminded of the responsibilities of a licensed person, cautioned about associating with persons of poor repute and put on notice that any such further conduct at any time in the future would be considered extremely seriously by Racing NSW and may result in significant action being taken against that jockey’s licence.
