Brenton Avdulla says winning a Sydney apprentices' title isn't a priority goal but it's a good enough reason to remain indentured to trainer Anthony Cummings.

Avdulla, hoping to continue a golden run with a full book of rides at Canterbury on Wednesday, is happy to let his apprenticeship run its course.

The former Victorian outrode his allowance a month ago but remains in demand with Sydney's leading trainers.

Since riding on equal terms with Sydney's senior jockeys Avdulla's star has continued to shine, highlighted by his Villiers Stakes win on Dances On Waves.

He is fourth on the overall Sydney jockeys' premiership and with 35 winners he is three in front of Josh Adams in the apprentices' race.

"I could come out of my time now but there's no real benefit," Avdulla told AAP during Randwick trackwork on Tuesday.

"There's the apprentices' title to think about, even though I'm not too worried about it. If it happens it happens."

Avdulla, who had a breakthrough Group One win on Secret Admirer during the Sydney spring carnival, said he was due to complete his apprenticeship in October.

He first came to Sydney to link with Gai Waterhouse before having his papers transferred to Cummings.

The 19-year-old has rides for four different trainers on Wednesday, including Relentless Lad and Henriette for Graeme Rogerson.

Relentless Lad drops in class on an unplaced run to Lone Command at Rosehill on December 11 while Henriette is a promising mare resuming after almost a year off.

The Grahame Begg-trained Cabernet and Rhythm Of Dance for his master are among Avdulla's early mounts for Saturday's Randwick meeting.

Adams, meanwhile, has five Canterbury rides including the mount on early favourite Rosie's Reward in the Grand Pavilion Handicap (1100m).

Rosie's Reward has 60.5kg but Adams will claim two kilograms as the mare tries to enhance her already impressive career figures of four wins from six starts.

She heads an open betting race at $4.20 after leading to the final 50m when a first-up fourth to De Dozen Stars on the Kensington circuit at Randwick on December 15.

The Canterbury track was rated in the dead range on Tuesday afternoon after 3mm of overnight rain.
