The Australian Turf Club will join with the racing community and racing fans at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday to farewell one of the most popular and successful stables seen in Sydney over many decades.

Wendy Walter will saddle up runners for the last time in memory of her late husband Guy, renowned as one of the finest trainers seen on Sydney and Australian racetracks since the mid 1980s.

Guy Walter passed away suddenly last month after a career that saw him train 36 Group 1 winners from the family's beloved Warwick Farm base.

A commemorative racebook has been printed for patrons on course on Saturday as Wendy Walter saddles up four runners for the stable, including a highly promising stayer, and two other favourites on the eight race card.

A special video tribute to Guy and Wendy Walter and the stable's many achievements will also be played after race 7.

Sense Of Occasion, the $2.25 TAB fixed odds favourite in race two, the Drummond Golf BM74 (2400m), is aiming for a hat-trick of wins.

Wendy Walter will also run I've Got The Looks, the early TAB Fixed Odds $3.40 equal favourite in theraces.com.au BM 84 over 1200m, and Dream Folk, the TAB Fixed Odds $4.60 equal favourite in the TAB Quaddie BM 90 over 1900m.

Party Dress, a $14 TAB Fixed Odds chance in the De Bortoli Wines BM 95 over 1100m, is the Walter stable's fourth runner for the day.

Australian Turf Club Chief Executive Officer Darren Pearce said Sydney racing fans had been privileged to see so many champions race out of the Walter stable over many years.

"Guy was not only a champion trainer but also a champion person and we are very grateful for all the wonderful memories he has given us," Mr Pearce said.

"We wish Wendy and all of the family the very best for the future and everyone will be cheering for at least one last Walter winner on Saturday."

The Australian Turf Club will continue to offer on-course patrons a range of discounts and benefits in its winter racing program right through until August 2. (Racing Network)
