MICHELLE PAYNE'S run of success continued at Moonee Valley with her 39th winner for the season, but it then ended abruptly when she was suspended for the rest of the month on a charge of careless riding, reports the Sydney Morning Herald/Age.

It says: Payne, who is third in the Victorian jockeys' premiership behind Craig Newitt and Dean Yendall, fell foul of stewards yesterday when she was found guilty of causing interference on Jumpin' Jack Cash. The gelding landed a late plunge from $3.20 to $2.80 before winning the 3000-metre Property Services Handicap.

Jumpin' Jack Flash charged clear for a 1¢ length victory. Later stewards found that when Payne was steering the six-year-old clear near the home turn at the 400m mark, she shifted ground illegally, causing interference to three horses, including the well-fancied Prussian Officer, who was stopped in his tracks as he ran out of room near the rail. Payne was outed by stewards for 12 meetings from after today's Ballarat Cup meeting as the interference was deemed to be in the mid range. She is due to return on December 2.
