MICHELLE Payne will take no part in this year’s VRC spring carnival. Payne has had her appeal dismissed by the Racing Appeals & Disciplinary Board against a 20-meeting suspension incurred in last Saturday’s Moonee Valley Cup.

Racing Victoria stewards suspended Payne for riding subsequent winner Prince Of Penzance into a position near the 400 metres where there was insufficient room, and which resulted in her horse making contact with the hindquarters of Precedence.

Stewards claimed that as a result Albonetti, ridden by Chad Schofield, was placed in restricted room, clipped heels and dislodged Schofield.

The RAD Board dismissed Payne’s appeal against the conviction as well as against the severity of the suspension.

Payne will resume riding on Thursday, November 14.
