Michelle Payne jumped at the chance to venture to Sydney this Saturday and ride six horses for master trainer Bart Cummings at Rosehill.

Among Payne's book of rides is McKell Cup hopeful Yaqubi, the only horse of the six she has ridden previously.

The 24-year-old will also partner Halleys, Big Storm, Wild Oats, Antidotes and Related.

"Yaqubi is the only one that I have ridden before, but I've watched a few replays and it does look to be quite a nice book of rides," Payne said.

Yaqubi was installed the $8 fourth favourite for the Listed McKell Cup (2400m) with TAB Sportsbet on Thursday after finishing a close second to up-and-coming three-year-old Summer Dash over 1800m at the same track on May 8.

Last-start Lord Mayor's Cup winner Common Objective heads the market at $3 ahead of Scouting Wide ($3.60) and Music Review ($4).

Payne's only ride on Yaqubi was three starts back at Canterbury in a 1900m Benchmark 80 and she was impressed with the four-year-old son of Galileo, who finished third.

"I thought he ran really well and said to (foreman) James Cummings on the day that I thought he'd be even better on a bigger track," Payne said.

"He did come out and win at Canterbury at his next start, he's still on the way up and he's racing well."

With a number of leading jockeys riding in Brisbane on Saturday, it opened the door for Payne to be given the opportunity to ride the bulk of Cummings' large team at the Rosehill meeting.

"It was definitely nice to be called upon while everyone was away in Brisbane," Payne said.

"Late last week (Cummings' racing manager) Bill Charles phoned my manager asking if I could commit to riding at Rosehill, there wasn't a lot in Melbourne for me and I figured it was a good opportunity."

Payne has enjoyed a tremendous season so far, claiming two Group One winners.

Her maiden Group One victory came aboard the Cummings-trained Allez Wonder in the Toorak Handicap during the Melbourne spring carnival while she also took out the Sires' Produce Stakes at Randwick last month on the Stuart Webb-trained Yosei.

Cummings' has been a big supporter of Payne.

The legendary trainer not only provided the jockey with the opportunity to claim her first Group One in the Toorak, but also booked her to ride in the Caulfield Cup (Allez Wonder), Melbourne Cup (Allez Wonder), AJC Australian Derby (Suyama) and Doncaster Mile (Allez Wonder) this season.
